The Fox Sterlingworth 16 gauge is not a rare gun…they made a lot of them.  Rarely does something truly special come up in the way of a Sterlingworth.  Today we show you something rare and special, a gun for the collector or shooter or both, retaining most all the FACTORY ORIGINAL FINISHES ON WOOD AND METAL, and fully documented with a Cody Firearms Museum information sheet showing how this gun shipped in 1939.  This gun left the factory as a true Sterlingworth Deluxe 16 gauge, with 30” barrels and ejectors.  This is special in several ways.  As shown in the original factory Fox catalogue (included with the sale), the Sterlingworth Deluxe Ejector gun shipped with a Jotsam Anti-Flinch recoil pad and two ivory beads.  Also noted in the catalogue description, the Deluxe was only available with 28” barrels.  THIS GUN SHIPPED WITH 30” BARRELS CHOKED M/F, THE PERFECT UPLAND GUN.  Review the photos closely and you will find the gun retains 98% factory case colors, 99% factory blue on the barrels, 97% factory blue on the trigger guard, and 95% factory varnish on the wood with normal field marks.  Serial number 376607 weighs just 6lbs. 6oz. and balances perfectly between the hands…a very light gun with long barrels.  The barrels are tight on the hinge pin and breech face like a new gun, ribs are tight, the bores are bright and shiny, no dents, and has factory 2 ¾” chambers.  The action has perfect screws and mechanics, this being a VFI CERTIFIED GUN, THE ACTION AND FOREND IRON HAVING BEEN STRIPPED TO THE SMALLEST PARTS, ALL PARTS SCRUBBED TO CLEAN METAL, INSPECTED CLOSELY FOR INTEGRITY AND FUNCTION, LUBRICATED AND REASSEMBLED, NOW CARRYING A 90-DAY MECHANICAL WARRANTY (a $450 service in our shop).   The wood is solid with no cracks, has modern shooting dimensions, and has never been restored or refinished in 86 years.  This is a great gun for chasing tough roosters, long flushing sharptails, strutting turkeys, high flying doves, waterfowl, or will perform well at the clay target range.  Collector quality, rare as can be, and affordably priced, this gun will continue to increase in value as you enjoy its use.  See the specifications below.  Thanks for looking!
