Parker GHE – 28” PARKER SPECIAL STEEL 70% CASE COLOR NICE

Those who search for Parker shotguns recognize that there are a lot of GH Grade 12ga. Parkers for sale.  Most are well worn Damascus guns, as they made over 20,000 such guns.  Less common are GH Grade 12ga. guns with the later Parker Special Steel barrels.  Only 2500 of those guns were made, and only 1675 with ejectors.  Many of these more desirable fluid steel barreled guns have been poorly restored, altered with cut barrels, some with broken and repaired stocks, and many used until there is no factory finish remaining.  This fine Parker GHE, sn214423 built in 1925, is a solid gun that has been well cared for.  It is built on the No. 1 ½  frame weighing 7 pounds 3 ounces and balanced on the hinge pin.  The 28” Parker Special Steel barrels choked SK/F have tight ribs, mirror shiny bores, plenty of wall thickness, no dents, double ivory beads, and they are still tight on the hinge pin and breech face.  The action retains 70% of the vivid factory case color and has exceptional GH Grade engraving with the game scenes and scroll work being much more detailed than most GH guns I have seen.  The action has perfect screws, excellent mechanics, strong well-timed ejectors, crisp triggers, the top lever right of center, and a properly functioning automatic safety.  The factory original wood is very nicely figured for a GH Grade Parker, has superb wood-to-metal fit, no cracks or splits, sharp checkering, great shooting dimensions, and terminating in a solid London Gun solid rubber pad with widow’s peak.  The Parker Identification and Serialization book shows this gun shipped just as you see her.  Parker guns in this kind of condition are getting difficult to find and the GHE Grade gun is the first in the Parker line up that is nicely hand engraved with game scene engraving and well figured wood.  The ejectors make the gun an outstanding value as priced.  What a great gun built for heavy loads, high volume shooting, and choked for flushing, hard flying birds, vintage trap targets, and just in time for the turkey season with the full choke in the left barrel.  There is nothing more distinctive in the doublegun world than the good looks of a Parker shotgun.
