Remington Rolling Block Model 4 .22S/L/LR -96% CASE COLOR

Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer a very special Remington Rolling Block model 4. This rifle represents an important chapter in Remington’s history. While the later Model 4-S received some modifications as requested by the American Boy Scouts to closer mimic military rifles, this earlier Model 4 showcases the original design. This Model 4 has a 22.5” octagonal barrel which has 98% original factory blue, with some light pits here and there, which is to be expected from a gun with over a century of use. The bore has strong rifling and some light pitting. It has a crisp trigger with 96% original vivid factory case color on the receiver and trigger guard, exceptional! For a gun that is over 100 years old the furniture has remarkably few field marks, it does, however, have evidence of a sling mount, just part of its history. We have left the gun ‘as is’ as it embodies a gun that has been used in the field and range and cherished through its many years of service. A great little target and backpacking rifle, which can be taken down by loosening the lever on the right side of the receiver, an excellent gun for the camping ground and a great way to slow-down your consumption of ammunition while whiling away a day plinking.
