Here is a unique opportunity to own a stunning Winchester Model 1886 Extra Lightweight Takedown rifle with a half magazine that has been perfectly restored to historical perfection to include Turnbull Restoration case colored receiver, lever, hammer, forend cap, and Turnbull charcoal blue bolt and loading gate, and rust blued barrel and mag tube.  ALL PARTS ARE ORIGINAL TO THE GUN, INCLUDING THE NICELY RESTORED WOOD AND THE GUN MATCHES THE CODY FIREARMS MUSEUM INFORMATION SHEET.  First, it is a very hard-to-find Model 1886 in this configuration and most preferred .45-70 caliber.  Next, it takes over a year to have a rifle restored by Turnbull Restorations and the costs exceed $3000, often by A LOT.  This M1886 was a solid rifle when we got it and with the fast taper 22” barrel, .45-70 caliber, and takedown features that make such a cool and handy rifle, we decided to make it new like it just came from the factory.  The Nickel Steel barrel has a shiny excellent bore that rates 9.5 out of 10, clear sharp lettering and stamps, Lyman No. 4 ivory bead front sight, Marbles rear buckhorn sight.  The rifle/action have been stripped to the smallest parts, all inspected for function and integrity, lubricated and reassembled after the finishes were restored.  That makes this a VFI CERTIFIED rifle with a 90-day mechanical warranty.  The original wood has no cracks, a few handling marks, a near new finish that matches the rest of the rifle, terminating in a factory shotgun butt.  The screws are all excellent, and the Turnbull colors are simply gorgeous.  Weighing just 7lbs. this is a very fast handling rifle fully capable of shooting all factory loaded ammo in .45-70 caliber.  With the super bore it should be accurate and a hoot to shoot!  Properly restored Winchesters have gained popularity especially when done by Turnbull Restorations.  Not having to find the right rifle and wait for over a year to have it restored is a great advantage.  It is not a rifle you will see again so don’t hesitate or she will be gone!  See the specifications below, and thanks for looking!
