Here we have a delightful, versatile upland gun from AyA, one of Spain’s premier gunmakers well known the world over for making solid, well finished guns. The 20ga. chambering is known to be deadly on pheasants, grouse, quail, dove, woodcock and all upland game.  Head to the woods in early season with the 26” barrels that have Improved Cylinder and Modified chokes on 99% blued barrels with mirror bores and a silver front bead.  As the leaves fall and shots get longer, or you head out in search of pheasants, you can switch to the 28” barrels hosting Modified and Full chokes, respectively.  The frame and sidelocks have nearly perfect case color, with sharp scroll and border engraving that extends from the top of the frame and barrel fences into a nice little detail on the breech end of the rib surrounding the gold-inlayed barrel marking.  Gold inlay of the brand logo is found on the lever which lands well right of center.  This action features a “third bite” into the breech face, adding to the already tight and secure lockup.  The wood to metal fit on this gun is superb.  The English stock is made from a handsome piece of walnut that has a little wave and depth to the grain and a lighter hue to the wood than some, which is a beautiful contrast to the dark finish of the metal on this handsome gun.  Details of the wood include hand-checkering on the forearm, wrist, and butt plate, as well as drop points behind the sidelocks.  Variety is the spice of life, and you can head into the field after just about any variety of upland game with this find gun.
