We provide a full-service double gunsmith shop producing some of the finest work in the country.
Unfortunately, this means we are so busy that we have closed the Gunsmithing Department to any new repairs until sometime in 2025.
To Our Loyal Customers,
We have had our three gunsmiths working full-time to catch up on existing customer guns with the hope that once caught up they could work on VFI guns. Our progress has been steady, but not enough to accomplish our goals. I, as President and owner of VFI, can no longer allow this inventory to sit idle and simply must make the hard decision to not take in new gunsmith projects until we have taken care of the projects we already have in house.
I know there is a serious shortage of qualified fine gun gunsmiths right now, and that there are few places to turn. One of my high priority goals this year is to find at least two more experienced gunsmiths to add to our staff to help us get caught up and again start taking in new work. This won't happen quickly and will not help those of you who have been patiently waiting for us to take in your projects, as it will likely take the balance of 2024 to accomplish our goals.
This was a hard decision for me to make, as I had personally assured many of our very good customers we would get to their work and have their guns ready for the upcoming gunning season. We were simply farther behind than anticipated and many projects have been taking longer to complete than anticipated.
We will be able to make adjustments to guns that are being purchased for clients that need chokes, pads, stock adjustments, chamber alterations to accommodate their new purchase, but no big projects.
I am sorry to make such an announcement. We will make arrangements to better accommodate our clients as expeditiously as possible.
Best Regards,
Jay Shachter, President
