| General Specs: Remington, 1862, .36 Caliber BP, 39oz., Barrel 7 3/8″ Serial Number: 19675 Vintage firearms is pleased to offer this Remington Model 1861 Navy percussion revolver serial number 19675, manufactured December 1862. The gun appears to have been built with the later New Model style frame while the cylinder predates the safety hammer recesses, likely a transition piece. About 7,000-9,000 being manufactured, all purchased by the U.S. Government. The barrel banner reads; PATENTED DEC 17, 1861/MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTON’S ILION, N.Y. These firearms were issued in the American Civil War and this gun, no doubt, has seen many adventures! It’s not surprising that at some point in its history this gun was professionally restored. The metal surfaces and edges have been carefully buffed; this process removed most of the factory original bluing, then it was re finished to an overall patina; the roll marks are still visible but fading. Overall, an interesting example of the elegant Remington 1861 but one that can be taken to the range without worrying about dropping a museum piece! Please review the photographs and specifications of this Civil War pistol. Thanks for looking! This Remington Model 1861 is an Antique and can be shipped directly to your home address, please know your local laws.
