| General Specs: Marlin, 1898, .32-40, 7lbs. 13oz., LOP 13 1/4″ Serial Number: 174081
Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this special-order Marlin Model 1893 rifle. Model 1893s are notable for their distinctive square flush bolt and being the precursor to the Model 36 and 336. This rifle’s top tang has “MODEL 1893” marking, which was phased out in 1905. Guns after that period were marked “93”. This Marlin’s serial number 174081 which places this gun’s production around 1898. This example has a special order 26” half-octagon barrel which has a bore that rates a 6.5/10 with distinct rifling, and a full-length magazine tube. The gun has been refinished, and the blue on the receiver and barrels is very strong, with only light handling marks. The wood is in great condition considering its age, with some handling marks and a few more notable indentations. Overall, a nice-looking Marlin with a lot of shooting life left in it.
