Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this Gentleman’s sporting rifle. Built in the early twentieth century these Le-Metford are often labeled Lee-Speed. These hand-built sporting rifles were marketed to officers and high officials of the British Empire through various outlets. They were popular in Africa and India where Officers could purchase a higher quality version of the rifle issued to the troops but with better finishes and still chambered for the standard .303 British cartridge. This gun has seen service-there’s probably lots of adventures this gun could recount, doing what it was bought to do!  It has lots of field marks, checkering that has seen better days and a bore that is 2/10, the metal has been reblued. The gun features a five round box magazine and magazine cut off, horn forend tip and grip cap and an engraved butt plate with trap and nib.  The barrel has express leaves with platinum inserts, and a long-range ladder sight.  A cool gun from a different age. Thanks for looking, please enjoy the photographs.
