| General Specs: Ruger, 2006, .44 Magnum, 45oz., Barrel 6 1/2″ Serial Number: 870-10740Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this unfired commemorative Ruger New Model Blackhawk celebrating 50 years of .44 Magnum chambered Rugers. In the early 1950s, Westerns drove strong demand for cowboy-style single-action revolvers, however, given Colt had since discontinued the Single Action Army resulting in a Single-Action Revolver vacuum in the American market. Sturm, Ruger & Company entered the market with the .22 LR Single-Six in 1953, and its success spurred the development of the Ruger Blackhawk, first introduced in 1955 chambered in .357 Magnum. The Blackhawk sold well due to its simple, strong design. When .44 Magnum debuted in 1956, Ruger produced a Blackhawk variant in the new caliber. This Anniversary Model was issued to commemorate fifty years of production of the .44 Magnum from 1956-2006. This example, serial number 870-10740, manufactured in 2006, retains its original factory finish on all parts, no turn line, and is unfired. It comes with its box and documents. Vintage Firearms also has the 50th anniversary Blackhawk commemorating 50 years of Ruger Blackhawks 1955-2005 bearing the same serial number, you could look for years and never find a matching set like these!
