Originally introduced in 2007, the SR9 was Ruger’s response to the growing demand for compact, easy to carry handguns as concealed carry laws expanded in the early 2000s. Designed to be slim, making it a popular choice for personal defense and everyday carry. Many earlier models were recalled due to the design of the safety, which could lead to accidental discharges if dropped while a round was chambered. Ruger issued a recall in April of 2008 in response to these issues and redesigned the trigger and safety system to alleviate the issue. Ruger has since discontinued the SR9 to focus on the Ruger Security 9 line, essentially capping the number of SR9s in existence. This example, serial number 330-13440, produced in 2007 by Ruger, has received the updated safety trigger system, featuring a Glock style pivoting blade in the trigger. It has also received very little use over the years, retaining 99% factory finish on all parts and a mirror bore. Included with this SR9 is its Case, three mags, loader, lock, and documents.
