| General Specs: Heckler & Koch, 1988, 5.56 NATO, 9lbs. 15oz. LOP 14″ Serial Number: 42-137498
Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this excellent piece of both military and political history. The HK93 is extremely similar in appearance to the HK33 and HK43, which is no coincidence, as Both rifles are derived from the equally famous G3 with the major difference being the G3 is chambered for the 7.62 Nato round. While heavy by modern standards, the HK93 is renowned for its exceptional durability and reliability. It utilizes Heckler & Koch’s roller-delayed blowback operating system, a design descended from the technology used in the legendary, high-cyclic-rate MG42 machine gun of World War II. The system employs a pair of rollers that lock into recesses in the trunnion when the bolt is in battery. Upon firing, these rollers delay rearward bolt movement long enough for chamber pressures to drop to a safe level before unlocking and initiating the extraction and ejection cycle. Further enhancing reliability, the HK93 features a fluted chamber that aids in positive extraction under adverse conditions. This example, serial number 42-137498, produced by Heckler & Koch in 1988, was imported into the USA just before the 1989 import ban making this gun one of approximately 20,000 available ever! This rifle is in superb overall condition; it has a bright mirror 10/10 bore and retains 99% factory finish on all parts. It’s equipped with its removable bipod and comes with two 40 round steel mags. Overall, just a superb example of HK engineering and perfect addition to the Cold War section of your armory.
