Introduced in 1961 as the “Deerstalker,” the Ruger Model 44 Carbine later became known simply as the “44 Carbine.” Its compact profile and handling reflect the influence of Ruger’s iconic 10/22, giving the rifle a familiar, profile and feel. Lightweight, handy, and chambered in the potent .44 Magnum, the Model 44 earned a strong reputation as an excellent close-range deer rifle, especially in dense woods. Its internal tube magazine holds four rounds, with a fifth in the chamber. After 24 years of production and more than 250,000 rifles manufactured, Ruger discontinued the Model 44 Carbine. This example, serial number 100-37873, produced by Ruger in 1972, has a 9.5/10 mirror bore and retains 97% factory finish on all parts. The rifle has its original front blade and adjustable rear express sight and is fitted with a vintage Kassar manufactured 4 x 32mm scope. Have a look at the detailed specifications and pictures below. Thanks for looking!
