While John Browning’s genius created the original Browning Superposed, it was Mr. Browning’s grandson, John Val, who traveled to Japan in the 1970s to supervise manufacturing of the Browning Superposed. Christened the Citori, it joined the Browning line of over/unders, inheriting all the excellent attributes of the original Browning design while adding selective improvements to aid modern manufacturing processes. The Citori receiver is milled from a solid block of steel, and the chambers are hard-chrome lined for longevity. The internal parts are polished and hand fitted, earning the Citori its reputation as a precision-fit shotgun. Introduced in 1973, the Citori became a worldwide success. This example, serial number 20239PN763, produced in 1989, retains 99% factory finish on the barrels trigger guard and receiver. The 26” barrels have mirror bores and are ready for screw-in Invector type chokes – M/F are currently installed. The lever sits right of center and the ejectors are timed. Weighing 6lbs. 13oz., the gun balances just in front of the pin. It does have some field marks, attesting to its use, and adding some character. It has grade one decoration with a nicely figured pistol grip stock and field forearm with hand cut checkering. It has a few fine handling marks.  A reliable gun to take afield or break some clays at the club, it’s everything a classic over/under Browning can be- just right.
