| General Specs: Parker, 1915, 12-Gauge, 6lbs. 12oz., Chokes M/XF, LOP 14 1/4″, DAH 3 1/4″, DAC 1 5/8″ Serial Number: 171029
A handsome and honest 1915 Parker VH 12 gauge, this is a particularly appealing example of Parker’s classic field-grade double. Built on the desirable 1½ frame, it weighs just 6 lbs. 12 oz. and balances only about 1/8” ahead of the hinge pin, giving it the lively, responsive feel that makes a vintage Parker such a pleasure to carry afield. The gun shows honest age and use, including exterior barrel freckling and scattered pitting, while retaining excellent bores and a tight, mechanically sound action. The stock previously suffered a significant through-crack at the wrist and has been professionally repaired and stabilized by the VFI gunsmithing department. The repair remains visible and is clearly shown in the photographs. The original Parker dog’s-head buttplate remains in place and adds to the gun’s period character. This is not a pristine collector Parker, but rather an affordable, properly sorted, lightweight Parker field gun with classic handling and plenty of authentic American sporting character.
