| General Specs: Perazzi, 1972, 12-Gauge, 8lbs. 9oz., Chokes F; IM/XF, LOP adjustable, DAH adjustable, DAC 1 7/16″ Serial Number: 39248 This 1972 Perazzi MX-8 is a particularly interesting early Ithaca-import example, retaining its original matching-number over/under barrels and accompanied by an exceptionally unusual Northview MX-8 unsingle barrel, also numbered to the gun. The Northview barrel is the feature that really sets this one apart. These unsingle barrels are seldom encountered today and represent an interesting period in the development of American trap equipment, when high-rib and unsingle configurations were becoming increasingly specialized for serious competition. Paired with the original Ithaca-marked Perazzi barrels, it gives this MX-8 a distinctive history that goes well beyond that of a typical early trap gun. The engraved, case-colored action retains strong visual appeal, and the gun remains mechanically excellent where it matters. It has clearly seen genuine competition use, with the handling marks and wear that come with a long life on the trap field, but it has been well maintained and remains tight and sound. The stock is fitted with a RAD adjustable recoil-reduction system and a fresh Kick-Eez recoil pad, a purposeful competition setup that complements the gun well and gives the shooter considerable flexibility in fit. This is not an untouched collector example, and that is part of its appeal. It is a serious early MX-8 that was used, refined, and configured for competition over the course of its life. With its Ithaca-era provenance, unusual Northview unsingle, attractive engraved action, and excellent mechanical condition, it offers a compelling combination of history, character, and usability. For the Perazzi enthusiast, serious trap shooter, or shooter ready to move beyond occasional outings and into competition, this is a particularly compelling two-barrel set—offering proven MX-8 mechanics, unusual period character, and a configuration built around the demands of the trap field.
