The Avtomat Kalashnikova, Kalashnikov, or just simply the AK is one of just a handful of guns that truly needs no introduction, adopted in some fashion by countless different countries, groups, and networks, and are still in active service today. Kalashnikovs have been adapted to serve all manner of roles both civilian and military; from compact Submachine Guns and Carbines to full size Squad Automatic Weapons and Marksmen Rifles, and everything between. The Arsenal SAM and SLR series are your best bet for a high-quality new production Kalashnikov in the United States. These rifles are built from Bulgarian receiver is milled from a hot die hammer forged receiver blank by Arsenal, Bulgaria over the course of 5.5 hours. Arsenal’s hot-die hammer forging produces stronger and finer-grained steel. Internal voids and cooling deformations are eliminated by the hammer forging process. The SAM7R includes the FM-922EUS Enhanced Fire Control Group which delivers shortened trigger travel with an extremely smooth and light trigger pull. To prevent lever misfires, the disconnector’s face makes full contact with the hammer. Additionally, these rifles have a cold hammer‑forged 16.3” barrel with a hard‑chrome lined bore and chamber. Essentially, the SAM7R is a semi-auto only AR-M1 which has been used in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kashmir, Georgia, Syria, Libya, Yemen, North Macedonia, India, and most interestingly the United States 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment used the 5.56 version while playing the opposing force for the Joint Multinational Readiness Center. This example, serial number AC533313, produced in 2022, retains 99% factory finish on all parts and has a 10/10 mirror bore. Furthermore, this rifle’s thread protector has been swapped for Arsenal’s “Muzzle Brake Compensator” providing extra recoil control when firing. This comes with its original box, manual, oiler, cleaning rod, OD green canvas sling, one 10 round Arsenal Circle 10 mag, and five 30 round Arsenal Circle 10 mags.
