| General Specs: B.S.A., circa 1966, .22 Long Rifle, 15lbs. 1oz., LOP 12 1/8″ Serial Number: UG228
Designed specifically for the shooter who demands the utmost accuracy from their .22LR cartridge, the Birmingham Small Arms Martini International Mk III carried forward the proven Martini falling block action into the realm of target shooting. This example, serial number UG228, produced by BSA circa 1966, is a genuine left-handed configuration with a mirrored receiver and left-handed stock. Of the only 3,773 B.S.A. Martini International Mark III rifles produced, just 383 left the factory in a left-handed configuration. It features a straight-walled barrel and free-floating forend, which contrasts nicely with the French Walnut furniture and blued action. The barrel and receiver are set up for mounting optics or target sights, and this rifle is fitted with a J. Unertl 16x scope which has clear lenses and reticle. These classic target optics are highly sought after by collectors and pair naturally with a rifle built for serious accuracy. The action is removable to permit cleaning, and the trigger is adjustable for weight of pull and overtravel. Currently set at 9 oz., the trigger has no take-up and no overtravel – exceptional. The Martini action guarantees positive case extraction no matter how slowly the lever is operated, and the ergonomically sculpted stock helps maintain a consistent head and hand interface for repeatable shot placement. Throughout the decades, the Martini action has proved itself as a top performer in the field of precision shooting, so make the move to a proper English target rifle – you will not be disappointed. Fewer than one in ten Mk III rifles left the factory in true left-handed form, and examples with the mirrored receiver and left-handed stock are seldom encountered today. Paired with the classic J. Unertl scope, this rifle makes for a compelling and complete package. Strike now and make this one yours! Specifications and pictures are below. Thanks for looking!
