| General Specs: Browning, 1988, 20-Gauge, 5lbs. 14oz., Screw in Chokes, LOP 14 3/16″, DAH 2 1/4″, DAC 1 1/2″ Serial Number: 242PP51071 Manufactured in Belgium in 1988, this stunning Browning B25 20-gauge exemplifies the pinnacle of fine European craftsmanship. The receiver is a true work of art, featuring delicate scroll engraving beautifully complemented by elegant gold wire borders and highly detailed, raised gold inlaid game birds in flight on both the left and right profiles. This stunning work was a crafted by two of the most famous names in the engraving world. Angelo Bee and Jean-Pierre Bailly worked in collaboration on the this Browning B25 canvas. J.P. Bailly hand-cut the ornamental scrollwork, fine borders, and background shading across the receiver housing. And Angelo Bee was the artist that created the embossed game birds. Interestingly Mr. Bee had emigrated to the United States of America in 1975. He would have been specially commissioned and flown to his old workplace (as an apprentice he was trained under Chief Engraver Félix Funken) to work on this Browning. The elegant French gray action is outfitted with a gold-plated single selective trigger and timed ejectors for consistent and reliable field performance. The 26-inch barrels are fitted with the versatile Invector choke system, making the gun adaptable to any upland hunting or sporting scenario. The richly figured walnut stock is carved with a classic straight English grip and paired with a handsome Schnabel forend and desirable long tang. The furniture is finished with superb checkering and an elegant leather-wrapped pad. Weighing 5 pounds and 14 ounces, this lightweight over and under is an absolute joy to carry afield and a remarkable addition to any fine sporting arms collection. To find a custom-made Browning adorned with the work and signatures of two of the most respected artisans is a rare event indeed, and what a conversation piece too!
