Vintage Firearms is pleased to present this gorgeous, handcrafted, Browning Olympian Grade.  This rifle was made in 1967, in Liege, and engraved by Master Engraver Louis Acampo, signed on the receiver, just below the yucca plant in front of the bounding pronghorn antelope.  Opposite the pronghorn, you’ll find a bugling bull elk in a forest scene and scroll work on the rest of the coin finished receiver.  The floorplate features an alert whitetail buck in a forest scene surrounded by scroll, and the trigger guard features a vignette of a grizzly bear strolling into view with evergreens in the background, which houses a signature Browning gold plated trigger.  The 22” factory blued barrel features a wedge of scroll engraving at the breech end, and mirror bore with strong rifling.  The carved and checkered walnut stock has been restored by the famed Art’s Gun Shop, in Hillsboro, Missouri.  The work is stunning and shows off the unique grain pattern of this beautiful piece of walnut.  Many guns have wavy dark grain lines, and this piece reminds me of impressionist art, a full picture made up by tiny dots of grain.  The forend and pistol grip are capped with rosewood.  The stock features a Monte Carlo cheekpiece and factory Browning buttplate. We have some vintage gloss black scopes that would look right at home on top of this stunning vintage rifle, please call to enquire.   Unusual for an Olympian, this gun was put to real use in the field by its previous owners, and with the restoration, is now ready for the collector’s showcase, or many more years of hunting.
