Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this .38 caliber Colt revolver. Designed for law enforcement, the Colt Police Positive debut in 1905, introducing the positive lock hence the name “Police Positive” which is essentially an early transfer bar. Colt marketed these revolvers as more accurate than the Smith & Wesson’s counterparts, because of the clockwise cylinder rotation which resulted in tighter lockup. This example, serial number 157919, manufactured in 1924, is in excellent overall condition. The 6” barrel retains 85% factory finish, showing some righteous holster wear, the receiver retains 90% factory finish which is fading to a pleasant patina, and it has a mirror bore. The Colt marked Bakelite grips are in superb condition and have perfect checkering. Overall, a wonderful double action Colt revolver, which will make a fine addition to any Colt collection.
