Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer a beautifully executed German sporting rifle retailed by the respected Jacob Sackreuter firm of Frankfurt am Main. Built around the Model 1888 action, this is far removed from the typical military sporter. The 23″ half-octagon barrel features an integral top rib silver-inlaid “Jacob Sackreuter – Frankfurt A/M,” folding express sights, and a ramped front sight. Double-set triggers, extensive case color, a finely matted receiver, and a well-shaped walnut stock with cheekpiece, round-knob grip, Schnabel forend, and fine checkering give the rifle the unmistakable character of a quality Continental sporting arm. Condition is excellent, with a mirror-bright bore, strong rifling, and approximately 97% barrel blue. An unusual and very well-finished German sporting rifle with genuine collector appeal and far more refinement than the ordinary Model 1888 conversion. The rifle is believed to retain the original Patrone 88/M88 chambering; chamber and bore dimensions should be verified before firing.
