| General Specs: Madsen, 1958, .30-06, 8LBS. 10OZ., LOP 13 3/8″ Serial Number: 1587-58 The Madsen M47 was manufactured by the Danes as the first post-war bolt-action design, but in a world flooded with WWII surplus they found little interest. The M47 was to become the last military bolt-action rifle designed for general issue. Madsen would receive only one Military contract for their post war design; 6000 were sold to the Columbian Navy, and these rifles are not known to have been issued outside of ceremonial use, most were stored as surplus until brought into the United Sates of America in the 1960’s. The 6,000 rifles that Madsen made for Colombia were chambered for the .30-06 Springfield cartridge, they had 23 ½” barrels marked Madsen M.G/A Cal. 30 with Fuerzas Armadas de Colombia over the chamber. This example is in near mint condition with some light handling; it appears unfired and shows 99.5% finishes on the metal. Because of the limited production these rifle are rare and sought after. It is a particularly well-made weapon firing an easily available cartridge. Add this gem to your collection ASAP! Thanks for looking.
