Mannlicher Schoenauer Model 1910 9.5×57- 6LBS. 5OZ. 10/10 BORE, SET TRIGGER

Fit for action, this great hunting rifle has great potential for large game. Its light weight, flip up rear sight, controlled round feed, and smooth action would be perfect for moose, elk, or even dangerous game.  The dark honey colored stock is a one-piece full-length checkered walnut with nose cap, capped pistol grip, European style cheekpiece, sling swivels front and rear, and a serrated steel butt plate with trapdoor storage for a cleaning kit.  The stock has some light scratches, compressions, and scuffs- righteous history of this rifles usefulness over 120 years of service, what stories it must have! The checkering is well defined with light handling wear.   The action on this rifle is as smooth as butter while the removable rotary magazine is a slick feature.  The adjustable double set trigger is crisp and functions flawlessly. The receiver is marked ‘Not English Made’ (which means it was imported and sold in England), this combined with the English proof marks dates this guns acceptance no later than 1904; the Model designation 1910 alludes to the 9.5x57mm cartridge and not a in service date.  9.5x57mm is also known throughout the British Empire as the .375 Rimless Nitro Express.
