This 2001EL 12ga., sn021329 built in 2003, is hand engraved with deep chiseled game scenes and special attention to the smallest details, and remains in outstanding 99% original condition. Most notable is the metalwork, bearing the intertwined “US” signature of Hans-Ulrich Sorg, recognized as a Merkel Master Engraver. His relief work of a fox flushing pheasants across the scalloped coin-finished action is crisp, deep, and full of life. Screws remain cleanly indexed, and the long-tang trigger guard retains its rich factory blue. The 28″ barrels retain 99% of their original factory blue with mirror-bright bores and tight ribs that ring bells.

The mechanics on this gun, including crisp single selective trigger pulls, strong well-timed ejectors, and a manual safety, are in excellent working order. With its 28″ SK/LM fixed chokes and 3″ chambers, the gun weighs 7 pounds 3 ounces and balances directly on the hinge pin.
