| General Specs: Parker, 1927, 20 Gauge, 6lbs. 3oz. Chokes IM/F, LOP 14 1/4″, DAH 2 3/4″, DAC 1 5/8″ Serial Number: 223615
A very appealing 1927 Parker VH 20 gauge in the configuration small-bore Parker buyers look for: 0 frame, 28″ Vulcan Steel barrels, and just 6lbs. 3oz. giving it the lively feel that makes these little Parkers such outstanding upland guns. Even better, this is an honest, substantially original field-used gun. The receiver retains 45% factory case color and the barrels about 85% factory blue, with normal handling wear rather than restoration. The original wood fits the metal superbly, the checkering is excellent, and is fitted with its Parker Brothers dog-head buttplate. There are scattered field marks consistent with its age and use, but nothing that detracts from the character of the gun. Mechanically, it is equally strong, with a tight action and hinge, tight ribs, mirror bores, excellent screws, crisp double triggers, and healthy barrel walls. A particularly attractive combination of originality, dimensions, weight and condition in a 20-gauge Parker that remains ready to hunt rather than simply sit in a collection.
