| General Specs: Ruger, 1978, 45-70 Government, 9lbs. 5oz. LOP 13 13/16″ Serial Number: 131-45084
Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this as-new Ruger No. 1 Lyman Centennial Edition. To commemorate Lyman’s 100th Anniversary two grades of rifles were made, Grade I and Grade II, and only 1000 grade 2 rifles were ever produced. This example serial number 131-45084 seems to be the 731st grade II centennial rifle produced and appears to be unfired and comes with its original wood case which shows some storage damage, All American 2-Die Rifle Set, accessories, and factory paperwork. On the falling-block breech there is no evidence of rounds ever having been cycled through. The 24” barrel has a perfect 10/10 mirror bore, 100% factory bluing, and features a 4X Centennial Model Lyman Scope mounted to the top of the barrel with Lyman mounts. On either side of the receiver is Lyman commemorative engraving, the left side reading “Lyman 1878-1978 Centennial Edition”, and the right side features a Buck being viewed through (presumably) a Lyman scope reading “Lyman 1878-1978” both surrounded by engraved art nouveau patterns. The receiver retains 99% factory finish and all showing screws are superb. The pistol grip stock and Alexander Henry style forend are made of nicely grained American walnut with perfect checkering. This is a great opportunity to add an accurate and reliable Ruger single shot rifle complete with its box and documents to your collection. Thanks for looking!
