| General Specs: Taurus, circa 1985, 9mm, 30oz. 5″ Serial Number: L48699
The Taurus PT99AF traces its lineage to the original Beretta 92. After completing a major contract for the Brazilian Army, Beretta sold its São Paulo factory and tooling to Taurus in 1980. With the Beretta design patents having expired, Taurus was able to develop its own pistol without licensing fees or royalty obligations, resulting in the PT92 and its descendants. Among the many variants that followed, the PT99 is distinguished by its adjustable sights, while the PT99AF added an ambidextrous frame-mounted safety and a firing-pin block. This example, serial number L48699, produced by Taurus circa 1985, is in excellent overall condition. A great shooter and an excellent choice for your next trip to the range.
