| General Specs: Wesson & Harrington , c1876, .41 Rim Fire, 12oz., Barrel 2 1/2″ Serial Number: 3336 Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this rather rare Wesson & Harrington No. 5 Transitional pistol with Harrington & Richardson roll marks. Manufactured between 1978 until the mid 1880s this revolver is serial number 3336, numbered on the frame, barrel, cylinder and grips. The gun uses a Wesson & Harrington No. 5 frame but with Harrington & Richardson 1876 patent date roll Marks with some sources saying about 4,000 manufactured between 1875-1876. This fine example is chambered for .41 caliber Rim Fire and holds five cartridges. The frame, receiver, octagonal barrel and cylinder show 99% factory nickel plating, and the hammer retains 85% factory case color. The bore is shiny and rates 5/10. The screws are excellent and the overall fit and finish is perfect. The cylinder indexes well and the trigger breaks at 4lbs. Wesson & Harrington was established in 1871, the firm’s founders, Frank Wesson (brother of Daniel Wesson, half of Smith & Wesson) and Gilbert Harrington originally produced and marketed spur-trigger pocket revolvers. When Wesson & Harrington dissolved their partnership in 1875, Harrington formed a partnership with former employee William Richardson to form the company Harrison & Richardson, the rest, as they say, is history!
