The Winchester Model 101 is a legend, and rightly so. Manufactured in response to Browning’s Superposed line of sporting guns the Winchester started its production in Kodensha, Japan in 1963. The Winchesters produced at the Kodensha workshops have a well-earned following amongst the ‘people who know’! These extremely well-made guns are hand engraved, hand checked, and feature chrome plated bores and jeweled barrel flats. Durable and handsome, the 101 points and swings gracefully and feels light and well balanced; its slim action makes the gun easy to carry and an elegantly sculptured wrist and forend feel just right, the gun comes up and mounts very naturally. This example was built circa 1968, it is serial number K213786, it has mirror bores and a vent rib, weighs 6lbs. 2oz. and is choked a very handy IC/M, just about perfect for early season upland birds! The receiver has original factory bluing with some nice honest silvering at the balance point, and crisp chiseled grade one engraving. The Walnut has some figure and a few field marks from its hunting exploits. This is a gun that can be carried with ease on long upland hunts and is equally at home on the sporting fields where its understated elegance will catch many an admiring glance! Thanks for looking!
