William Evans is a prestigious London gunmaker beginning its journey in 1883 when he opened shop.  He began his career in firearms working for Purdey’s and Holland & Holland prior to going out on his own.  He made it his trademark to only produce the FINEST QUALITY GUNS, whether boxlock or sidelock, rifle or shotgun.  This fine example of a fine boxlock ejector gun, sn18457 built in 1963, is an amazing find.  In a marketplace full of 12 bore British Boxlock ejector guns, this William Evans stands out in several ways. FIRST, IT RETAINS 99% OF THE ORIGINAL FACTORY FINISHES ON THE BARRELS, ACTION, AND WOOD, WITH SOME WEAR SHOWING ON THE TRIGGER GUARD TANG.  SECOND, IT WEIGHS ONLY 6LBS. 1OZ.
