| General Specs: Smith & Wesson, circa 1966, .357 Magnum, 46oz. 5 1/2″ Serial Number: S264144
Smith & Wesson needs little introduction, being one of the most enduring firearm manufacturers in America. First introduced as the Highway Patrolman in 1954 and designated the Model 28 in 1957, built on the robust N-frame for law-enforcement agencies that liked the Model 27 but found its high-polish finish and topstrap checkering added cost with little practical value. This example, N42544, produced circa 1966 by Smith & Wesson, has been set up for target shooting, fitted with walnut target grips and trigger shoe which pair nice with the fantastic trigger pull in both double and single action. The 5 1/2” barrel has a mirror bore and retains 97% factory bluing, with some minor holster wear towards the muzzle and a small area of finish loss near the rear sight. A matted finish is present on the top of the barrel and receiver, as well as the underside of the frame and trigger guard. The hammer and trigger show vivid Factory original case coloring. Included is a Smith & Wesson Model 28 Highway Patrolman box which is not serial numbered to the gun. Don’t miss this opportunity to get a classic heavy-duty S&W revolver, it’ll make a great addition to your collection. Specifications and pictures are below. Thanks for looking!
