This Smith & Wesson Model 1905-3rd change, sn227483, was produced circa 1914 and is chambered for the .38 Special cartridge. The factory original nickel finish on the pistol remains in 98% overall condition with some very minor flaking in areas. The trigger is smooth, and the factory case coloring remains on both the trigger and hammer. The 6” barrel, cylinder, and frame bear matching serial numbers. Strong rifling is evident in the bore, the checkering on the dark walnut grips remains in excellent condition, and the engraving on the frame is sharp. This example has a distinct mushroom-shaped extractor rod which is a design that Smith & Wesson implemented on all factory-new Model 1905 3rd Change revolvers.
