A 12 gauge that carries with the ease of a smaller gun is a special find. This Philadelphia Fox A Grade was recorded at just 6 lb. 10 oz at the factory, despite its 28-inch barrels. It has the reach and versatility to be a fine pheasant or dove gun, with the lively feel that makes a long day in the uplands a pleasure. Its Cody factory letter confirms the A Grade, barrel length, and recorded weight, and places the gun in Fox’s 1920–21 records. The classic configuration includes double triggers, a splinter forend, extractors, and an original style checkered buttplate. The gun presents beautifully. Its barrels retain strong factory blue, while the receiver shows vivid case color and the walnut remains attractive throughout. The case color and wood finish show exceptionally well, though their originality cannot be confirmed. For the sportsman who wants a light American double with useful 28-inch barrels, this is an unusually appealing Fox—one whose standout light weight is documented by its factory letter.
