Arrieta is among the finest Spanish shotguns produced in the true Basque traditions.  Michael McIntosh praises the Arrieta in his book “Best Guns” and in fact carried his Arrieta afield as much as any other gun he owned.  The Basque makers were famous for making quality “copies” of other guns like the Holland and Holland sidelock this Arrieta mimics.  With a five pin sidelock action, intercepting safety sears, perfectly struck chopper lump barrels, auto safety, removable striker discs, articulated front trigger, stocked to the fences, cocking indicators, beetle back safety, 90% coverage Purdey rose and scroll engraving (done by hand, of course)… you have BEST GUN FEATURES AT A FRACTION OF THE PRICE of a British built gun!  Arrieta closed its doors for a few years and is now back in operation having joined forces with Arrizabalaga, Spain’s preeminent gunmaker.  They are available new and special order here in the states at William Larkin Moore, one of the premier European gun sellers in the USA. This Arrieta Sabel 25 sidelock is different than many you will see offered for sale on the internet today.  Built in 1978, the gun is in factory original condition and retains 99% metal finishes and 96% wood finish with light field marks here and there.  The barrels are tight on the hinge pin and breech face with the lever right of center.  THIS IS A VFI CERTIFIED GUN, meaning we strip the action and forend, Ultrasonic clean and scrub all parts to shiny metal, inspect all parts for integrity and function, make any replacements or repairs necessary, lubricate and reassemble, a $450 service in our shop.  VFI CERTIFIED GUNS have a 90-day mechanical warranty providing confidence you are buying a fine shotgun that will provide years of service in the field.  Spending serious money on a shotgun should include knowing it has been serviced and ready for years of trouble-free use.  Weighing just 6lbs. 5oz. and balanced perfectly on the hinge pin, choked IC/M with perfect bores, racy English style stock terminating in a checkered butt, great stock dimensions…this gun is the ultimate grouse/quail/woodcock upland gun for your  hunting season. Fast to shoulder, handy in the tight brush, Churchill type rib, all make for a very special bird gun.  We can make any alterations you may need within a few days of purchase.  See the specifications below.  Thanks for looking!
