Brown Precision; Ruger M77 .270WIN – CUSTOM, SET TRIGGER, SCOPE

VFI is pleased to present this purpose built, rugged, custom rifle by Brown Precision.  Brown Precision is a custom rifle builder that pioneered the development of composite stocks.   This composite is textured, and has a nice feel, unique from the common plastic stocks on many modern rifles.   This rifle boasts their Teflon coated stainless steel barrel with their custom target crown.  The bore and rifling on this gun are pristine.   There is some light finish wear around the muzzle from going in and out of cases.  This rifle is at home on the benchrest or in the field with a Canjar set trigger.  When firing from a benchrest, “set” the trigger by flipping it forward to expose a small lever, now the trigger pull is right around 0.85 lb.  Traditional use of the trigger still gives a nice crisp pull, at a still light, but more conventional 3.5 lbs. of pull.  The operation of the bolt is exceptionally smooth.  The push round feed with claw extractor, function as expected.  The hinged floorplate offers safe unloading.  There is slight wear on the bolt handle finish from honest use.  Optional, but included in the current price is the handsome Leupold Vari-X III 2.5×8 scope which looks right at home, with its matte finish and trademark gold ring.
