The Browning Superposed is one of the finest over/under shotguns in history and one of John Browning’s most prolific designs.  Produced in plain jane field grades to the most elaborately engraved and finely stocked shotguns ever seen, production of the Browning Superposed was done in Belgium, running strong from 1931 through 1977 when regular production stopped.  It was that year FN of Belgium became the sole producer of the famous Superposed Browning.  This became the era of the Presentation Grade offerings in the Browning Superposed line.  Only the highest grades received the hand engraving from the master engravers that makes them so valuable to the shooter/collector today.  Browning in America was not making profits selling the Superposed, but the European market was vigorous and FN had a full line of Superposed guns they sold with engraving patterns different than those imported in the previous years by Browning or catalogued by  them as custom order guns during this time.  In 1982 Browning had the opportunity to buy a small group of these FN European market Superposed guns and brought them to the U.S. as unique and special offerings.  This gun, a FN Browning Superposed Grade B2G in Superlight configuration is one of those guns and you will see the Browning address stamped on the right side of the barrel.  This B2G Superlight 20ga. sn823PM01287 was built in 1980, hand engraved and signed by Edovard Vos, mounted with nicely figured French walnut with English grip and slim forend wood with a Schnabel tip.  The gun has very light wear with 99% factory blue on the barrel, 98% French Grey on the action and trigger guard, and 99% of the hand-rubbed oil finish on the wood.  The checkering is perfect, screws excellent, 26 ½” barrels are choked IC/M and tight as new on the hinge pin and breech face with the top lever well right of center.  The mechanics are excellent including strong well-timed ejectors, crisp single selective trigger and positive safety.  What a fabulous upland gun at 5lbs. 11oz. and balanced perfectly on the hinge pin, just in time for the bird season that is upon us.  This is a lot of gun for the money, an investment grade Belgium Browning that is not often seen (less than 100 B2G in Superlight 20ga.), with highly desirable features that will only go up in value as you enjoy its use.  See specifications below.  Thanks for looking!
