| General Specs: DWM, 1908, 9mm, 30oz., Barrel 4″ Serial Number: 59913
Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this interesting P.08. The frame is serial number 59913, it is likely a commercial 1908 (considered ‘scarce’ in the Standard Catalog of Lugers, A. Davis) while the slide is from a DWM 1914 pattern Luger. The two parts have been expertly put together post war to sell to the international market, a common practice. This example was exported to the United States of America and is stamped GERMANY. The frame has matching serial numbers on the take down lever, trigger and cover. The barrel, slide and components share matching serial number 1048; the safety reads GERICHERT and the chamber indicator GALADEN, the receiver has clear proof marks. The magazine is serial number 9304. The gun is in 95% condition with an excellent bore. The gun functions well and its tolerances are still tight; there is no hold open and no stock lug. Overall, an interesting example of a commercial gun with a military slide. It would make a great shooter or an interesting sample of post war ingenuity and market forces. Whatever its story, it’s a most intriguing gun. Thanks for looking!
