The A.H. Fox Sterlingworth guns offer the most bang for the buck! Each Sterlingworth is the same gun mechanically as all other grades of the A.H. Fox gun, having the fewest parts and smallest action of any of its competitors. The Fox gun mechanism is utterly reliable, the locking mechanism simple and efficient, the barrels and action made of the finest steels of the time, the wood finely fitted to the action, checkering well cut, and superb handling characteristics. They made a lot of Sterlingworth 12ga. guns. With so many of them out there, how do you know which one to buy? Your intended use makes a difference, ie. heavy gun for waterfowl or sporting clays, or the lightest one you can find to carry in the uplands. Condition is important, and many of Sterlingworth guns were used hard and not well maintained. Buying from a seller you can trust is of the utmost concern. IT IS EASY TO BUY THE WRONG GUN WITH COSTLY ISSUES. At Vintage Firearms, Inc. (VFI) we inspect each gun before purchase, our 3 gunsmiths clean and service each gun as needed.
