Auguste Francotte is world famous as a high-quality firearms maker from the gun making center of Leige, Belgium dating back as far as 1805.  Making fine shotguns into the 21st Century with price tags topping out at over $100,000, Francotte is a brand recognized and used by heads of state, business tycoons, and in some cases, the fortunate “Average Joe”.  This fine Francotte is a very rare find, a boxlock ejector gun with 28” barrels and an English gripped stock of nicely figured European walnut.  Built in 1927, serial number 2090 24, the gun is in superb condition, with 99% barrel and trigger guard blue, 98% case color on the action with clear lettering and a small amount of engraving, and the beautiful walnut stock having a superb hand-rubbed oil finish with sharp checkering surrounded by a mullered border and terminating with a checkered butt.  The long barrels have excellent bores, are tight on the hinge pin and breech face, have 2 ½” chambers, and a tapered flat rib.  THIS IS A VFI CERTIFIED GUN WITH A 90-DAY MECHANICAL WARRANTY.  We stripped the action and forend iron to the smallest part, Ultrasonic cleaned all to shiny bare metal, examined all for integrity and function, lubricated and reassembled.  This is a $450 service in our shop.  Ammunition is readily available all over the internet with No. 7 ½, 8, and 9 shot…perfect for quail, woodcock, doves, rabbits, or breaking clay targets.  Choked IC/F some experts might even take larger birds with this fine gun.  See the specifications below.  The gun weighs just 4 ¾ lbs. and balances 1/8” ahead of the hinge pin, a truly dynamic handling gun from one of the best Belgium gun makers.  I just scanned the internet and there isn’t even one other available for sale, especially with 28” barrels and ejectors, except a second one we have here at VFI.  If you like peewee shotguns, don’t miss out on this fine little Francotte, ready for decades of more service.  Thanks for looking.
