Another notable gun ready for sale.  It is a Griffin and Howe rifle No. 2539 custom built on a pre-64 (1960) Winchester M70 action with a 22″ Winchester featherweight barrel, .30-06 caliber.  It has the quick detachable G&H scope mount that allows removal and reinstallation of the scope back to precise zero every time within just a few seconds for travel, storage, or to utilize the Lyman receiver sight.  It has a Lyman 43WJS receiver sight that is fitted with a blank for scope use and has the aperture portion stored in the buttstock…a very cool and useful feature if your scope fails.  Gorgeous wood, Griffin and Howe status and craftsmanship, an investment quality gun that is a very viable field gun for deer and other large game.  The gun weighs 8.25lbs. with the scope mount but no scope.  The G&H rifles built on the pre-64 Winchester M70 action are very sought after and gorgeous to look at.  They are a good investment.  This one has 99.5% Griffin and Howe blue on the metal, and the stock has only a few light field use marks.  The bore is a perfect 10 out of 10, the mechanics are in perfect working order. The magazine will hold 5 rounds of .30-06 ammunition.  The highly figured stock is adorned with an ebony forend tip, steel grip cap, shadow line cheek piece, fine oil finish, wrap around checkering in superb condition, a checkered steel buttplate with trap door storage and spur at top/heel of stock, and sling swivels.  The bolt handle has a 4 panel checkered tear-drop design with a hand engraved tip.  We have priced this rifle to sell as the hunting season is upon us.  It won’t last long, so please call right away to make this fine rifle yours.  Griffin and Howe rifles continue to increase in value as you enjoy the use and pride of ownership.  Truly an heirloom firearm that can be used for generations to come.  See specifications below.  Thanks for looking!
