Vintage Firearms is proud to offer this classic American double made in Ithaca, New York.  The Flues model, designed by Emil Flues, enjoyed the longest production life of any Ithaca double gun.  The main boast of the design is its quick lock up, touted to be 1/625th of a second, according to a study done by the Cornell University Mechanical Engineering Department.  That quick lockup came through a three-piece lock that is stronger than its processors.  This Grade 1 gun has 30” Damascus steel barrels with vibrant, consistent pattern, and mirror bores.  The receiver has a nice field scene engraving with a setter on each side of the frame and subtle borders.  The factory case color is stunningly vibrant and coverage is nearly perfect, with only slight fading near the carry point at the hinge pin.  The furniture shows good plain grain, but it is well made and maintained with a few field marks on the forend, the checkering patterns are nicely done and the wood to metal fit is very good.  The pistol grip cap and Ithaca buttplate fit very nicely as well.  This gun has many years of life left in it, in fact, with the metal finishes in the condition they are in, I’m not sure how much use it has had throughout its life thus far.  Weighing in at 8 pounds, 8 ounces, and with 2 ½” chambers, this easy shooting 12 bore will have comfortable recoil for any shooter, and be capable on the skeet field.  Consider this classic American double from 1915, for your collection, at an affordable price
