General Specs: L.C. Smith, 1925, 20 Gauge, 6lbs. 11oz. Chokes F/F, LOP 13 5/8″, DAH2 1/4″, DAC 1 3/4″
Serial Number:  FWE85099

This L.C. Smith (Hunter Arms) made in 1925, snFWE85099, is ready to chase your favorite upland birds or smash clay targets with real class.  This Elsie is a very attractive double gun, with finely figured walnut, a fine hand-rubbed oil finish, excellent checkering, superb wood-to-metal fit, 98% factory blued barrels, 80% trigger guard factory blue, and 85% of the factory case colors, faded, but present on the action.  Each piece of wood, has its own character and that is very evident with this gun.  When looking at the right side of the gun, the stock has a very traditional grain pattern, but when you flip to the left side, the grain has a vibrant quilted flame pattern from the wrist all the way to the serrated buttplate. In addition this Elsie has two forends; a splinter and a beavertail, rarely do you have the option to choose the correct forend to match your shooting style, the pictures show your options.

This fine Specialty Grade 20 ga. is one of 1100 ever built, and only 123 had 32” barrels and only 537 had Hunter One Trigger, 142 with a beavertail forend.  Along with those factors, the 3” factory chambers are where this gun gets really rare.  From a shooter’s standpoint, this is one of a small group of Elsies with long barrels and beavertail forends that are so in demand for the vintage side x side clay target events that are becoming popular across the country. Even though the gun has 32” barrels, and a light overall weight of 6 lbs. 11 oz, the gun has great balance and point-ability. The 3” chambers and full chokes offer potential as a waterfowl or late season pheasant gun.

Whatever your endeavor, this gun should be considered as a rare and beautiful addition to your collection.
