| General Specs: Mossberg, circa 1973, .410, 5lbs. 10oz. C-Lect-Choke, LOP 13 3/8″ Serial Number: 115079
Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this Mossberg Model 183KD. Introduced by Mossberg in 1947 as the Model 183D, a lightweight, low-cost field gun that used choke tubes threaded onto the outside of the barrel. In 1953 Mossberg brought out the 183K, which replaced those tubes with the built-in C-Lect-Choke, which allows the shooter dial between several choke settings without swapping anything. The K series remained in production until 1986, and its small running changes are tracked by the letter suffixes KA through KE. This example, serial number 115079, produced circa 1973 by Mossberg, has the KD suffix and is in superb overall condition. It retains 99% factory finish on all parts and has a mirror bore. A versatile shotgun with the profile of a rifle that is well suited for a variety of tasks. Specifications and pictures are below. Thanks for looking!
