This handsome L.C. Smith Specialty Grade 16 gauge is a beautifully restored example of one of Hunter Arms’ most appealing upland configurations. Shipped from the factory on December 16, 1914, it combines the light handling of a 16 gauge with 26” barrels, automatic ejectors, and the distinctive engraving that sets the Specialty Grade apart. The restoration is exceptionally well executed. In fact, the work is convincing enough that careful inspection by our team was required to distinguish the restored finishes and recut engraving from original condition. The result is a gun that presents beautifully while remaining tight, crisp, and very well suited to actual field use. At just over six pounds, this is the kind of 16 gauge that carries effortlessly and comes alive in the hands. Accompanied by a fitted case, L.C. Smith tool, and Cody Firearms Museum factory letter confirming its original configuration, it offers the appearance of a remarkably well-preserved Specialty Grade with the practicality of a professionally restored gun ready to be enjoyed.
