General Specs: Remington, c1992, .270WIN, 7lbs. 2oz., LOP 13 1/2″ Serial Number: A6370755 Here we have a beautiful Remington Arms Custom Shop “C Grade” Model 700 rifle built as a special Presentation gift to their dedicated employee of 31 years at the time of presentation, Dave Glenn. This rifle, snA6370755 built around 1992, is a one-of-a-kind rifle built with the attributes that suited Mr. Glenn, including a left-handed action, stunning European walnut stock finished in a hand rubbed oil with a shadow line cheek rest, ebony forend tip and grip cap, fleur-de-lis checkering, inletted sling swivel studs, jeweled bolt, reinforced recoil lugs, checkered bolt head, high polish blued action and barrel, and a 22” fast taper barrel chambered in the iconic .270 Winchester caliber. The hinged floor plate is nicely engraved with Remington’s tribute to Dave Glenn for 31 years of loyal service, a nice finishing touch commemorating the history of this rifle’s origin. Vintage Firearms (VFI) can supply a floor plate without the tribute for anyone that chooses that option. See below for the obituary for Dave Glenn, who passed in 2024. John “Dave” David Glenn, age 86, of Trumbull, Connecticut, died March 17, 2024. He was born August 16, 1937 in Lawson, Missouri to Robert Edwin and Mary Helen (Cunningham) Glenn, Jr. Dave served in the Coast Guard on the Great Lakes out of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin where he met his wife of 64 years Doris (Brownell) Glenn. Dave started working for Remington Arms Co in 1961 at the Lake City Army Ammunition plant. He would continue to work for Remington for over 50 years holding a number of positions during that time. Dave enjoyed hunting and fishing and made several lifelong friends along the way. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris (Brownell) Glenn; brother, Robert (Gloria) Glenn; sister, Betty (Keith) Hill; and brother-in-law, Bobby VanPelt. Survivors include his sons, John (Jean) Glenn Jr, Shelton, CT; Jeffrey (Lisa Thomas) Glenn, Gilbert, AZ; five grandchildren; his sister, Patty VanPelt; brother, Michael (Janie) Glenn; and several nieces and nephews. This rifle was used by Mr. Glenn and has a few light field marks on the wood. VFI can eliminate any signs of use if the next owner so chooses with no long wait in line. The metal finishes show 99% of their factory blue and almost no signs of use. The bore is a perfect 10 out of 10, the trigger is crisp, and the mechanics are superb. Weighing just 7lbs. 2oz. it is a delightful, handy, gorgeous special-order Remington Model 700 in one of the most respected and versatile calibers. See specifications below. Thanks for looking!
