In 1950 the advent of consumer television and the explosion of Western themed weekly adventures created the perfect environment for an up-and-coming firearms designer to make his mark. Bill Ruger saw how popular the TV and film westerns were becoming and decided to apply his talents to designing a new six shooter to capitalize on the cowboy trend, thus creating the Ruger Single Six. This example of a Single Six Old Model, sn414470, was manufactured in 1965 and it has a 5 ½” barrel with a mirror bore, perfect screws, a front post sight, and a rear U-notch. The factory original bluing is 99% on the receiver and 98% on the barrels, the cylinder shows light holster wear. The walnut grips bear a Ruger medallion and fit nicely to the frame. This Ruger Single Six is fun to shoot and is perfect for anyone looking to plink targets with a classic American revolver chambering the .22WMR cartridge. Thanks for looking!
