| General Specs: Vais Arms, Modern, .280REM, 8lbs, 7oz. LOP 13 1/2″ Serial Number: C5489 Stunning rifle built by Vais Arms. George Vais is a craftsman known for designing innovative firearm muzzle brakes and creating wildcat rifle cartridges, applying his unique gifts in a different manner with this beautiful, traditional hunting rifle. This is a custom crafted Mauser rifle with a Modelo 1912, Waffenfabrik Steyr action, perfect bore, sharp rifling, with a clean recessed crown, jeweled bolt and follower. This controlled round feed action is smooth, operating with ease. There is a case colored three-position safety on the bolt. The checkered bolt handle has light wear from normal use. The rifle has hinged floorplate for safe unloading. Crisp, adjustable Timney Trigger. There are light handling marks in the stock that do not detract at all from this gorgeous firearm. The stock has superb hand-cut checkering in a single panel on each side of the pistol grip and wraparound checkering on the fore end. The highly figured stock features a cheek piece with shadow line and is fitted with a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad. Leupold base and rings are included. This rifle will catch the attention of any fellow collector and will be right at home in the field in this capable cartridge.
