| General Specs: Winchester, 1938, 16 Gauge, 6lbs. 10oz. Chokes IC/F, LOP 14″, DAH 2 1/2″, DAC 1 1/2″ Serial Number: 5863
This handsome prewar Winchester Model 21 16 gauge has a particularly appealing field configuration, with 28” barrels, double triggers, extractors, a pistol-grip stock, and automatic safety. A Cody Firearms Records Office search confirms the Standard Grade configuration and shows inspection completed in April 1938. Vintage Firearms – 5863 Condition is excellent throughout, with tight mechanics, excellent bores, and very attractive walnut. The stock is especially noteworthy, showing far more figure and character than one might expect on a Standard Grade gun and giving this otherwise understated Model 21 a great deal of visual appeal. A very desirable prewar 16-gauge Model 21 with excellent presentation, a classic field configuration, and supporting factory-record information. It should appeal equally to the Winchester enthusiast and the sportsman looking for a classic American double to carry in the field.
