| General Specs: Beretta, 1999, 20-Gauge, 6lbs. 3oz., Screw in Chokes, LOP 14 5/8″, DAH 2 1/2″, DAC 1 7/16″ Serial Number: F39279B
The Beretta 686 Onyx has long been one of those guns that simply does everything well. This 20 gauge example is especially appealing as a light, beautifully balanced field gun that is equally at home on an upland hunt or a day of sporting clays. At just over 6 pounds and balancing directly on the hinge pin, this gun has the quick, lively feel that makes a 20 gauge over/under so enjoyable to carry and shoot. The 28” barrels give it enough length to swing smoothly without taking away from that responsive handling. Condition is excellent. The factory metal finishes remain exceptionally strong, the action is tight, and the bores are bright and clean. The buttstock has been refinished and presents very nicely, with attractive figure and crisp checkering. The gun includes seven screw in chokes, giving the next owner plenty of versatility for field or clay use. A handsome, mechanically excellent Beretta that has the proportions, weight, and balance to make it a genuinely useful sporting gun rather than simply another over/under in the rack.
